Redefining the Indian classical music experience

The concert venue is washed in blue as megh malhaar surrounds the audience in three dimensional sounds; Music videos and graphical montages playing on large screens alternates with thematic projections. Indian classical music is now available in vibrant shades of what the appreciating listener of today wants.

But the greatest impact of the on going revolution has been the content – unique jugalbandis, mixtures of maestros and young artists, open house artist-audience interaction sessions – and its availability across major cities of the country

Jalsa – the revelry of Indian music

IMA's Jalsa, presented in association with Idea Cellular is taking the new attitude of the art across 12 cities with legendry names like Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, & L Subramanium, along with upcoming stars like Rimpa Siva and Shashank. The concerts are open free for everyone through invitation.

The concerts also seek to promote understanding about the ethos, values, art, artists and professional craft involved in the creation, presentation and following of Indian classical music.

India tunes in

The evolution hasn't been gone unnoticed by the fans of the music. Booking plans are closed many days prior to any classical music concerts and the average age of the audience have been seriously affected by growing number of youngsters taking interest in the art and form.

Indian classical music concerts have become (true to the value of the art) stages for learning, knowledge sharing, spirituality and showcase of young new expressions.

Check Jalsa concert schedules to know who is playing in your city and when.
